Second verse, different from the first

Since I haven't written here in so long, I haven't written about our process to adopt another baby. We decided about a year ago that we were ready for another child, and we finished up all of the homestudy paperwork in April. So we've been waiting since then. Last week we got "the call". And then this past Wednesday we met with an expecting mom and her sister.

So, yes, another (perhaps) first meeting. Little Baby Boy hasn't made his appearance yet, although he's past due. So now we all wait for him to be born, and then take it from there.

This meeting was so very different than our meeting with our daughter's first mom. Of course the meetings are bound to be different, but these two were on different planets. I cherish both of these memories. This time I must write down everything we talked about, because I never did that with Little A's first mom, and now I wish I did. I was so sure at that time that we would maintain contact and maybe that's why I didn't think to record things....

There is no guarantee of course of what will happen from here, but at this point the intentions are to place the baby with us, and to have an open relationship, with several visits a year, contact throughout they year, etc... I feel confident that Little Baby Boy's mom is making decisions that feel right for her, dad and baby, and that she has a strong support system around her. We are cautiously excited, trying to keep busy, and taking this as an opportunity to purge lots of stuff from our apartment (and stay busy)!
